Volunteers from our corporate partners Carney Sweeney came from far and wide to show their support for autistic young people with complex needs.

On a volunteering visit on Thursday, 19 September, the team of 11 travelled to our site from the town planning consultancy’s London, Birmingham and Cardiff offices.

While with us, the group got to work removing overgrown turf from the play equipment used by the young people we support on our Track. With the rainy season approaching, this work makes the play area safer for young people and staff alike.

Elsewhere, the group also got stuck into making a whole load of symbols for our Education team. Symbols are a key part of our autism approach so it is essential to have supplies ready for use.

Carney Sweeney is supporting Prior’s Court as its Charity of the Year and September is a busy month for them as all of the company’s offices are competing in a walkathon which sees each team walk 550 miles. The challenge of 550 miles was chosen as it is the distance walking to all of Carney Sweeney's offices and then finishing at Prior's Court.

Thank you so much to Carney Sweeney for their incredible support and best of luck for the rest of your walkathon!
