Maria Benito Rozalen - Head of Post-16

Maria joined Prior's Court in 2016 with a desire to deepen her expertise and passion for the autism community. Since then, she has supported young people in various roles across multiple departments, including as an Autism Practitioner, a class teacher and the 'Keeping Me Safe' Area of Learning lead. In September 2024, Maria became our Head of Post-16.

Maria’s drive for continuous learning has also led her to teach in mainstream schools, bringing valuable insights from the broader education sector.

Maria has a strong interest in work around emotions and is always seeking new ways to support both young people and staff with their mental health.

A qualified teacher, she recently achieved a National Qualification in Senior Leadership and has additional training in coaching methodologies and Sex and Relationships Education.

All young people at Prior's Court are autistic, have severe learning disabilities and complex needs. We strive to help them to be healthy, happy, more independent and have the opportunity to work. We aspire to transform the lives of even more autistic young people with complex needs and continually push forward with improvements and innovations to provide the best possible care.
