A visit by two guests from the Royal Academy of Dance led to some great conversations about how we can support each other - and the first-ever pirouette in the dance studio of the new Performing Arts Centre!

John Joshua Tuifua and Katie Dyke-Coomes from RAD came for a visit to our site on Friday, 26 July, enjoying a tour of our Main School building (including buying snacks from young adult Shaun at our school Tuck Shop!) and looking around the Performing Arts Centre build.

The bespoke dance studio in the centre was of particular interest for Josh and Katie, with Josh performing a pirouette - probably the first in the studio, but certainly not the last!

Katie is the Learning and Participation Manager in charge of the RADiate programme at RAD which provides inclusive dance classes with specialised Dance Artists, to children with additional learning needs. So Katie was a great person to chat to about making the dance portion of our Performing Arts programme of learning suitable for the autistic young people we support.

There were great discussions had around Prior's Court and RAD supporting one another going forward. Watch this space for more!
