While the construction phase of the Performing Arts Centre project continues, equally as important is getting right the curriculum that will be taught within the centre.

A team of Prior's Court staff members and external specialists in autism and/or the arts are working collaboratively to put together a learning programme encompassing music, drama, dance and the wider performing arts.

To help with this project, autism and arts specialist Elise Robinson visited Prior's Court during the August summer holiday to run taster sessions to help inform what the performing arts curriculum could look like.

Elise has taught drama in an autism-specific school and shares our beliefs about empowering the creative potential of autistic young people in the performing arts.

The sessions - covering drama and dance/ movement - were attended by Prior's Court young people who were encouraged to explore their creativity, with support by Prior's Court staff members Kerry Brown and Sami Fairchild.

Young people explored through role play, engaging activities and more.

Thank you to Elise for her support and running these sessions.
